The Breeding Season Begins!
We have layed some baby rainbow and brown trout eggs in our incubators in the hatchery to help re-stock the farm. Please see our photos section for more pics.

Spread the word – an extra 36 truckloads of fish have arrived to restock the farm, the smokehouse is operational and our staff are ready to help you drop a line in.
Our community is recovering from the devastation caused by the Black Saturday Bushfires and more than ever we are encouraging people to visit our surrounding communities as they get back on their feet. Buxton is just 30 minutes from Healesville and the drive will take your through, despite the fires, some beautiful wilderness. Come up and try our Traditional Mountain Ash Smoked Trout and our hand-milked Salmon or Trout Caviar, or just enjoy the peace and quiet with a spot of fishing.
A visit to Buxton Trout and Salmon Farm is still great fun day out for the whole family. Young kids through to the grandparents can all be thrilled by hooking onto one of the Rainbow Trout or Atlantic Salmon in our picturesque natural bush setting. While you’re here why not sample our famous Mountain Ash Smoked Trout, have a BBQ with the kids, or just feed the fish and relax
The Farm is Australia’s first commercial Trout farm where trout have been reared for nearly 50 years, the gravity fed water supply originates from the snowfields of Lake Mountain before cascading down Steavenson’s Falls and through its streams providing the perfect place to grow a clean natural food.
